Hi everyone,

Great class today!  I wanted to take a moment to provide some resources based on our conversation today.  If I missed anything please let me know (just drop me a comment or tell me tomorrow morning.)

  1. Here’s a link to the Blogs, Wikis & Podcasts book that I mentioned in class.  It’s one of my favorite books on the subject, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in Web 2.0 tools and techniques.  In addition here’s a link to the author’s blog (Weblogg-ed) – it’s a great resource for teachers and administrators alike.
  2. The New Media Consortium Horizon Report is a great summary of the current state of educational technology.  They author both a K-12 report as well as one geared towards higher education.  The full reports can be downloaded via links that run down the right-hand column of the page.
  3. Here’s a link to my newest favorite toy, the Livescribe smart-pen.  As I mentioned in class, the pen captures everything that you write on a specially formulated notebook that consists of a series of uniquely positioned “micro-dots.”  It can even capture audio and cross reference it with your printed words.  The pen also allows you to upload your writing and speech directly into your computer, allowing you to search your handwritten notes and review your writing even if you don’t have the original notebook handy.
  4. Here are some links to the Augmented Reality projects that I mentioned in class – if you have a webcam you can simply print out the appropriate symbol and hold it up to experience the AR for yourself!
